Avoid any nasty surprises this Autumn by following these 3 super simple tips to maintain your pressure washer after every use, and make this Halloween one to remember for all the right reasons.
Tip 1: Clean out your detergent system
It is very important after using your pressure washer to rinse out any detergent that remains. To do this you need to remove the syphoning tube from the detergent supply. The next step is to run water through the system for a couple of minutes on a low pressure. This should successfully remove any remains.
Tip 2: Relieve any pressure in the machine
To do this, turn off the pressure washer and unplug it from the electrical supply. Point the spray gun in a downwards direction away from people or animals, running it until all of the water stops flowing. Let the pressure washer naturally cool down and engage the trigger lock.
Tip 3: Drain excess water
Remove the garden hose from the pressure washer, spray gun and wand extension. Drain water from them all and make sure you clean any debris off the machine. Any remnants of water can freeze in winter months which could prevent your system from working properly as it could expand and crack parts of the machine.
Maintenance is cheaper than the cure
At Systemwash, we recommend that everyone invests in professional maintenance and servicing for their hot or cold water pressure washer.
The small investment in maintaining your system will pay dividends over the long run and can extend the life of your pressure washer for many years, saving you thousands of pounds.
