It's a common misconception that pressure washing isn't environmentally friendly, but there are key environmental benefits that often get overlooked. Businesses are becoming increasingly aware of their environmental impact, or footprint, and pressure washing offers a low impact way to maintain their vehicles and premises.
Speed: Because pressure washing allows you to clean surfaces quickly, you use less energy and water than other techniques, including manual cleaning techniques. When cleaning a patio with a pressure washer, for example, you’ll use up to 75 percent less water than doing the same job with a garden hose.
Chemicals: Because pressure washing often uses chemicals, people can be mislead to immediately thinking this makes pressure washing bad for the environment. Green pressure washing detergents are available that are biodegradable and quite often you wash a surface with just water alone.
Maintenance: In general, it’s less expensive to clean a surface with a pressure washer than it is to replace it. By cleaning and restoring items that are in good shape, you reduce waste, energy, and the demand for the natural resources used to make and ship the respective item. Regular light maintenance also reduces the need for more energy-hungry deep cleaning.
